Jo-Anne is an award-winning photojournalist, sought-after speaker, and the founder of We Animals Media.
She has been documenting the stories of animals on all seven continents for almost two decades. She is the author of three books, We Animals (2014), Captive (2017), and HIDDEN: Animals in the Anthropocene (2020) and was the subject of the acclaimed documentary, The Ghosts in Our Machine.
Jo-Anne recently juried the World Press Photo and MontPhoto competitions, and is based in Toronto, Canada.
